In The Kitchen


If I’m home, I’m cooking. The foundation of my cooking skills grew out of years of watching & helping my mom prepare meals for our family every night. I watched her sauté, dice, braise, mince and each night transform ingredients into meals, typically without any kind of recipe. I’m eternally grateful to have a mom who cooked homemade dinners day in and day out for 30 years. Unbeknownst to her, she gifted me with an incredible culinary foundation & the ability to create my own meals & my own memories in the kitchen for my family.  In my mom’s kitchen you mostly got to watch & listen, but occasionally, like the photo below, I got my  own apron & got my hands dirty.


Cooking is exactly what the quote at the beginning of this post read: Eating is a necessity, but cooking is an art. We have to eat, most of us 3 times a day. Why not make it as fun, creative, economical, healthy & artful as possible. In The Kitchen is about the simple concepts, fresh ingredients, & delicious flavors that surround my life & exploring the ability to turn food into art.
